How to sell old jewelry?

I have been broken up with my last boyfriend for about a year now and am ready to give up the jewelry that he bought me. I have a pair of half carat diamond earrings and a 1/4 carat diamond ring with matching 1/4 carat necklace. He spent about 2000 for the three piece collection and I don’t want to just throw them away. i know pawn shops are a total rip-off so I was wondering if anyone had ideas as to what to do with the jewlery. Do you know of a popular jeweler that possibly resets stones or melts down the gold? Thank you
